What is ZOMF SMS?
ZOMF SMS is a mobile application that offers you great savings on your SMS. You can send SMS from your mobile to anywhere in the world from just 2.1p. Click here to find out more about our fantastic rates.
How does it work?
To use ZOMF SMS, write your SMS as you normally would with your mobile's normal SMS application (BlackBerry and Nokia/Symbian). All you need to do is make sure that the ZOMF SMS application is running in the background. In the case of Android, use our ZOMF SMS application instead of the normal Android SMS application, you can still access all your numbers and existing messages.

ZOMF SMS sends your SMS via the internet to the ZOMF SMS network and we deliver your message as an SMS to the intended recipient. This will normally cost you far less than sending via your network operator especially when you are roaming or sending to an international destination. There is no need for the recipient to have ZOMF SMS installed as it is delivered as a normal SMS message to them.

ZOMF SMS puts you in control; you can easily configure it to be used for all your SMS, only international SMS or only SMS while you are roaming so you can maximise your savings depending on your mobile tarriff.
What mobile phones are supported?

How much will it cost me? Are there any extra charges?
There are no monthly fees or extra charges, we only charge you for each SMS you send. Check our great rates here.

ZOMF SMS requires minimal data transfer. If you have access to WiFi (which is normally free) or a data bundle, then you shouldn't need to worry about data charges from your carrier. Even if you don't have a data bundle, access to WiFi, or if you have used all your data allowance, data charges are normally very low for the small amount of data ZOMF uses, so it should still work out much cheaper! But please check data charges with your carrier. To give you a rough idea, each SMS will use about 0.3 KB of data.

If you use ZOMF SMS while you are roaming/abroad and have no access to WiFi or a travel data plan, data charges will be considerably higher from your network. However as ZOMF SMS uses so little data this should be fairly minimal and with the cost sending SMS when roaming through your carrier usually being so high, you can often still save a huge amount. We of course advise you to check your roaming data charges with your network operator prior to using when roaming.
How do I set it up?
Setup and configuration are really easy. Just follow the instructions here to download the app and use it to register. Once registered, configuring ZOMF SMS should only take seconds. Just tick the boxes presented in the main screen to configure when messages should be sent through ZOMF rather than your network operator. How can I get a discount if I take part in the ZOMF Location Network?
The ZOMF Location Network aims to provide location-aware services, which are still in development, for our users. Users who choose to opt-in will get 20% off their SMS messages sent in a qualifying period. A qualifying period is when a location update has been provided at least 28 days in that calendar month. The discount will take the form of credit added to your balance at the end of each month, equal to 20% off any qualifying SMS sent in that period.

I have just topped up and my ZOMF balance is not updated.
It can a few minutes for confirmation of order payment to come through to our systems and show up in your online account. Also, to reduce the unwanted use of data, ZOMF SMS clients only check your balance when it is used. Your new balance will be reflected on your phone the next time you send an SMS through the ZOMF network.

If for any reason a completed order does not update your balance displayed in your online account in the website, then please contact customer services.
If I lose my phone, will anyone be able to steal my ZOMF credits?
As long as you change your ZOMF password, no. Every SMS sent is verified by user account and phone information. Changing your password will deactivate all phones and require you to log in again using your new password.
I'm using a CDMA device. Can't I obtain the 20% discount?
No, the 20% discount is not available for CDMA phones. A GSM phone will be able to apply location information to build our ZOMF network, but such information cannot be provided by a CDMA phone.
I've sent a few messages and they aren't charged the same.
The remaining balance is rounded off to the nearest pence (£0.01) for displaying purposes. For information about the cost of each message, log in at www.zomf.it and check out Account > SMS, or checkout our Pricing Page. The cost of each message is also dependent on the destination number.
